Bernie Lumbert of Crestone, Colorado, Announces Worldwide Contest for Landmark Art at Baca Grande Community. Possibly Giant Cow?

May 11, 2004 -- Local artists will jury the contest, which ends in six months. These artists will select the entries as submitted on paper or in a model. There are probably more artists per capita in Crestone then anywhere, including Taos, and all are welcome to compete for the cash prize.

Later, the chosen design, having a name like "Shambala" or "Vortex of Good Feelings", the slogan for Crestone, may be constructed at the gateway to the Baca.

Oh, as to that invention for condoms? Well, when Bernie's wife found one in his jacket, he had only a few seconds to explain it.

"Honey", he said, "I am using them to put in raw eggs and cook them so that the eggs may be used as garnish on salads". Whew, that was close.
