CBOSS and Colombia Móvil show up on the stage together in Rio de Janeiro
August 25, 2004 -- CBOSS rtBilling solution was launched at Colombia Móvil on October 1st, 2003. The operator's subscriber base grew from zero to 800K in 5 months.
"The best thing for a CIO is to hear nothing about a platform. This happened to me with CBOSS rtBilling. It is so stable I never hear a word from it", says Guillermo Estrada, CIO at Colombia Móvil.
rtBilling is a globally proven real-time billing solution that helps operators to achieve their business operations targets. Regardless of the number of operators, service providers or mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) being hosted, rtBilling is able to rate, control and manage all communications traffic in true real time. In a single system, rtBilling provides real-time processing of voice calls, SMS&MMS, data and content. With flexible rating rules, rtBilling enables highly competitive targeted offers and innovative promotions, thus helping the operator to generate more revenue from the current customer base. Moreover, in conjunction with other CBOSS products, rtBilling closes the gap between different subscription types: the solution allows anything from purely pre- or post-paid accounts to hybrid accounts, including bundled service offerings.
With the highly scalable IN-based rtBilling solution on HP NonStop platforms, service providers are able to efficiently meet the growing demands of subscribers and next generation mobile networks, while ensuring the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) of the entire system. Furthermore, response times of less than 100 ms and zero downtime reliability are the best guarantees for minimising the mobile operator's business risks. Millions of subscribers in Europe, North and South America, and the Asia Pacific region are currently using mobile services enabled by rtBilling, including the subscribers of O2 in UK, ONE GmbH in Austria and Optus in Australia.
Colombia Móvil is one of many smooth operators using the CBOSS' solution. Its case study is on the agenda of Prepaid Forum and Billing Congress in Latin America in Rio de Janeiro on 23 to 25 August. Co-presentation of Luis Fernando Carroll, VAS Manager at Colombia Móvil and Mojgan Otterström, Senior Solution Manager at CBOSS will go through the challenges Colombia Móvil was facing when starting its operations, what kind of solutions the operator chose, how it managed to succeed with aggressive but innovative marketing, and also how it can maximise network revenues by using a convergent charging platform.
